Crostini



CROSTINI 
Crostini is an italian appetizer consisting of small slices of grilled or toasted bread and toppings. The toppings may include a variety of vegetables and cheeses or may be presented just with a brush of olive oil, herbs and sauces. 




Ingredients:

French bread or baguette - 8 slices
Butter - 2 tbsp
Parsley( dried or fresh) - 2 tbsp
Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Pizza seasoning- 1 tsp
Capsicum - 1 (sliced)
Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
Tomato ketchup - 1 tsp
Cheese cubes - 2 
Olive oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste

Recipe:

1. Cut the french loaf or baguette into 1.5 inch slices. keep aside. Preheat the oven on 180 degree C.
2. Mix soft butter, 1/2 tbsp garlic paste and 1 tbsp parsley in a small bowl.
3. Using the butter knife spread the prepared butter on the bread slices.
4. Line the baking tray with aluminium foil. Now arrange the bread slices on the baking tray and bake them for 5-6 mins.
5. For the topping: In a pan heat olive oil, add 1/2 tbsp garlic paste and cook for a few seconds. Add the sliced capsicum and cook for 2 mins stirring in intervals.
6. Add the pizza seasoning, 1 tbsp parsley and tomato ketchup. Give it a stir and turn off the flame. Let the mixture cool down slightly then add the salt.
7. Now take out the bread slices from the oven. Spread the vegetable mixture on the bread slices and add the cheese cubes cut into small pieces over the mixture. Now bake them again in the oven for 5-6 mins.
8. Serve them hot.
